The story — 15 years, one focus
I started in digital marketing in 2011, when the field in India was a fraction of what it is today. Google Ads was simpler. Meta was still Facebook. SEO was a chase for keywords more than user intent. For five years, I worked across the field — running campaigns, building sites, learning SEO end to end, and doing the kind of unglamorous client work that turns into actual expertise.
By 2016, I had a question I couldn’t shake: why is the training I see around me so far behind the practice? Most digital marketing courses in Hyderabad at that point taught theory from 2013 in 2016 classrooms. Real campaigns were running on completely different mechanics. I decided to start a training institute that would do the opposite — teach only what works in the platforms this month, run live campaigns inside the course, and follow up until students actually got placed.
That was the start of Digital Brolly. Ten years and 5,000+ students later, the institute has grown — but the rule hasn’t changed. Every batch runs on what’s working today, not what worked three years ago. When AI tools landed, we built the first AI-orchestration module in the Hyderabad training market. When platform changes shifted attribution, we rewrote the analytics phase. Curriculum freshness is non-negotiable.
Outside of Digital Brolly’s own batches, I train marketing teams at four other institutes in Hyderabad — Sathya Technologies, MindQ Systems, Media3, and APSSDC. These are the engagements where I teach trainers, not just students — which keeps me honest about whether I’m explaining things well enough to be re-taught. I also work with the Indian School of Business (ISB) as a client, which means I get a clear view of what the senior end of marketing recruitment actually values.
I’ve been featured on Suman TV speaking about digital marketing as a career — that segment is one I revisit whenever a student asks “is this a real career?” because the answer is on tape. And I’ve published an e-book on Domain SEO that distills the part of the field I have probably the most contrarian opinions about — domain-level signals, technical SEO, and the things newer SEOs miss.
Career timeline at a glance
Started in digital marketing
Five years of hands-on work across SEO, paid ads, websites, and analytics before founding Digital Brolly.
Founded Digital Brolly
An AI-powered digital marketing institute at Nizampet X Roads, Hyderabad — built to teach what actually works in live platforms, not three-year-old theory.
5,000+ students trained
Across freshers, working professionals, freelancers, and business owners — placement rate currently runs at 80–85% for job seekers.
Training partner — Sathya, MindQ, Media3, APSSDC
External training engagements with four of Hyderabad's well-known skilling institutes. These keep my teaching frameworks sharp and reach students beyond Digital Brolly's own batches.
Indian School of Business (ISB) — client
Working with ISB as a client gives me a top-of-market view of how senior marketing teams are hiring, what they're paying, and what skills are actually missing in the candidate pool.
Suman TV appearance
Featured on Suman TV speaking about digital marketing as a career path — particularly for Telugu-speaking professionals and freshers in Hyderabad.
E-book on Domain SEO
Authored an e-book on Domain SEO — covering domain-level ranking signals, technical SEO foundations, and the parts of the SEO discipline that experienced practitioners care about most.
Where I train — beyond Digital Brolly
Most of my teaching happens inside Digital Brolly’s own batches at Nizampet X Roads. But four of the city’s well-known IT-skilling institutes also bring me in as a digital marketing trainer for their programmes. Together, these engagements reach a wider student base than any single institute alone.

Published — E-book on Domain SEO
Domain SEO is the part of the field I think most newer practitioners under-weight. Search engines treat the domain as a unit — not just individual pages — and that has consequences for site architecture, internal linking, technical SEO, and content strategy. I wrote an e-book on it.
Domain SEO e-book
Domain SEO — by Ravi Varma
A practitioner’s guide to domain-level SEO signals. What search engines look for at the domain level, why site architecture matters more than most blogs admit, and the technical SEO foundations every site needs before any link-building begins.
What I teach
I teach digital marketing end to end — but seven topics are the ones I go deepest on, and the ones students most often want to specialise in.
🔍
SEO
📢
Google Ads
📘
Meta Ads
📧
Email Marketing
📺
YouTube Marketing
Channel SEO, audience growth, content strategy, and YouTube Ads — for brand and for direct response.
AI Marketing
Affiliate Marketing
Network selection, offer evaluation, content models that convert, and the legal/disclosure bits most courses skip.
“I don’t teach what worked three years ago. I teach what’s working in the platforms I logged into this morning. If a curriculum can’t be re-taught the same way next month, it shouldn’t be taught this month either.”
— Ravi Varma, Founder & Lead Trainer, Digital Brolly
Who I teach alongside

Ambika handles batches alongside me, runs one-on-one doubt sessions, and owns the placement mentoring function. If you’ve ever been told “we’ll get you placed” by a course and never heard from the team again, you’ll appreciate how different Ambika’s follow-through is.
